What's Your Favorite Twilight Zone Episode?
« on: November 18, 2011, 07:20:17 PM »

Rod Sterling, was a man ahead of his time. The Twilight Zone used to give me NIGHTMARES when I was a kid and now I laugh at the special effects used (which were state of the art in his time), but it's STILL watchable and I've found myself watching the Twilight Zone marathon every New Year's Eve (well now I just watch it on Netflix thanks to a friend LOL). Some of my favorite episodes are :

Nightmare At 20,000 Feet

I'm sure EVERYONE into Twilight Zone has at least HEARD about this episode! It's about a man who is getting over his phobia of flying . It was so bad that he had to see a therapist. Of course everything is fine until he looks out the window...and he see what he thinks to be a man on the wing of the plane! Not only was he one the wing, but he was trying to rip up the metal of the wing so he could make the plane crash! This episode had me sleeping with the lights on!

The Howling Man

I consider this one of the GREATEST episodes of the series. A reporter is sick/injured  in a massive storm and finds refuge in a mysterious castle run by these men who look like they came straight out the Bible lol He hears this howling sound; it's almost like an animal but not quite. Long story short, the men tell him that they caught the DEVIL in the dungeon and have locked up. Of course like a true jackass, this guy doesn't believe these men and releases the devil once again upon the world...

Time Enough At Last

Also an iconic episode, Time Enough At Last was as ironic as it was hilarious and sad. A banker who is obsessed with reading on ANY spare time he has (because his wife won't let him read at home and thinks he reads too much), begins to slowly destroy his life as his obsession interferes with his social life and employment. He decides to have lunch (I believe) in the banks vault where it's nice and quiet and a nuclear bomb explodes and kills EVERYTHING. As he comes out to inspect, he finds that he is alone and considers killing himself with a gun he's found, but he then spots the torn down library and sets up a reading schedule since he has "Time Enough At Last" to read freely. He reaches down and his glasses BREAK-- they are soooooooo thick and he can't see without them!

There are many others but I don't want to make this post too long. What are some of your favorite episode?
